Modem Emulator Tool

As most web developers know, building slim pages that load fast is still important even though a lot of people now use broadband of some sort.

People are browsing on mobile devices more every day, and also search engines like pages with good code to content ratios.

I found a cool little tool that allows you to browse your site and emulate the speed of a 28k or 56k modem.

The iDomainSite homepage comes in at 55.75 seconds on 56k according to Firefox, which is not bad for a forum.

The emulator suffered a great deal of abuse in the past mainly by people wanting to bypass work internet filters.This modem-emulator was originally released on added bytes.com.The intension was to provide a tool for web masters to see their sites.Some designers have taken the rise of broadband to mean that graphic intensive pages are now acceptable so that 600k flash intros are desirable.Zoc 5.10 is a well known telnet client and terminal emulator.
