Default Domain Prices

Well, I have to find out whats up with you Domainers.

I have a domain registry, I'm a reseller under the #1 registrar in the world.

I offer the same services and support as my parent company. My prices are close to (one cent per week) .01 higher per week for the fist year of registration.
After the fist year, coupons and items on sale, do not apply to renewal service. (same as PC)
I seem to have low/no sales but yet my parent company sells 10,000s of domains each day.

Ok, I'm new, unheard of, poor website lading page. anything eles?

What should I do?

I'll be Back!

I think the most important thing with domain registrars is brand name and trust. A registrar doesn't have to be the cheapest, or have the nicest website it's their reputation as a registrar that helps determine their success.

A good example of this is the recent RegisterFly incident that put many peoples portfolios in limbo. There's alot of trust put in to registrars, especially when you have portfolios of domains that are the equivalent of a good retirement fund.

So my 2 cents this time would be to concentrate on branding and name recognition. You have got a good domain, YearNames.com has the potential to become a household name if marketed. Getting a good logo (as you are in the process of doing) and pushing your brand so the image becomes common place is the key.

This is something i'm currently doing for iDomainSite, today i've been doing a custom theme and fresh unique logo to start properly establishing the site. I'm incorporating room for a banner so when i'm done i won't mind putting yours up for a run.
