| Junior Member | Banned domain name checker I recently came across a very useful tool to check whether a domain name has been banned by Google. It can be found at DnXpert: http://www.dnxpert.com/google-banned-checker/ Purchasing banned domains can prove to be fatal, as google plays a very important role in the success of a domain name, whether used solely for parking, or for development. Hope you guys find it useful. Rep points are appreciated.

Just to note with the tool, it may give some false positives. What it does is runs a site:www.domain.com check on Google to see if the domain itself comes up first or not. If no results are found, it checks if it has Pagerank and Backlinks. Then if the domain has backlinks with a link: command but nothing indexed via a site: command it will determine it to be banned. Redirects can mess up the results a bit, so if the domain comes up banned it may pay to do a few more checks on it before discounting the domain. For instance www.wikipedia.net will come up banned when it simply redirects to the .org extension. However the tool is useful to do an initial check without needing to punch in a number of different queries manually.

| Junior Member | True, it's not a comprehensive tool, but it does give an useful overview...
